Reminds me of a story JFK tells about Thomas Hart Benton in Profiles in Courage. One of Benton's political opponents threatened to write "a little book, in which the behavior of Sen. Benton will figure prominently." Benton replied by promising to write a large book, in which his opponent would not figure at all.
